Shakespeare in the Park
One of St. Louis’s favorite summer traditions! Shakespeare in the Park has entertained over a million people since 2001. Performances are staged at Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park, America’s best urban park from May to June. Admission is free, which nearly 40,000 attendees take advantage of each season to enjoy high-quality entertainment made by world-class artists, created just for them.

This stripped-down, actor-centric production features a versatile cast of six, with most tackling multiple roles in one of Shakespeare’s iconic texts. Creating a rich theater of the imagination, they will take the joyous, professional Shakespeare that the Festival is known for to thousands of people who might not otherwise have access to it.

Shakespeare in the Streets
Shakespeare in the Streets is a grassroots theatrical experience that invites St. Louis neighborhoods to tell their stories. A Festival-selected creative team leads the neighborhood in developing an original play based on one of Shakespeare’s works—a play with themes that reflect the community’s character.

The Confluence Regional Writers Project was created in 2018 to further foster a culture of playwriting in the Midwest by supporting emerging writers in Missouri and Illinois with a fellowship and weekend-long celebration of new works at the Confluence New Play Festival each spring.
