Thursday, June 17th

The Festival invites you to celebrate our return to the stage with a luxury picnic under the stars, raising funds in support of our 21st Season of free Shakespeare. Paired with an exclusive performance of King Lear starring André De Shields, this will be an evening of Shakespeare in the Park that you’ll never forget.

A Conversation with André De Shields

King Lear star and Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winner André De Shields discusses Lear, Broadway and more. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages at your socially distanced cocktail tables. Valet service will be available at the north end of the Grand Basin on Lagoon Drive. Shuttle service will take you from Lagoon Drive to Shakespeare Glen.

Fund the Need Today. Celebrate at the Gala.

The annual gala is the Festival’s largest fundraising event of the year. And the traditional “paddle raise” for Fund the Need plays a major role in the evening’s success — supporting our year-round programming. But this year, we’re raising those funds BEFORE the gala — so you can relax and enjoy an amazing evening with your friends on June 17th.

Make your Fund the Need gift today! Your donation supports free Shakespeare and enchanting cultural experiences throughout the region. It connects communities with theater that is uniquely St. Louis; theater about our neighbors and neighborhoods; theater that illuminates the common threads connecting us all.
